Loreal Crowned Miss Heart of Missouri |
This past month I had the pleasure of performing at and
administrating over two great preliminaries: Miss Heart of Missouri held at the
SoCo Club in Columbia and Miss Gay St. Louis held at Hamburger Mary’s.
Congratulations to Miss Heart of Missouri, Loreal and First Alternate, LaDreama
Leight Funn and to Miss Gay St. Louis, Kitty Denise Litter and First Alternate, Diva
Coppafeel – all on their way to the big dance in April!

Just so the newly crowned Miss Gay Missouri knows , being
MGMA is a job . There are many responsibilities that come
with the crown - so know your rules and regulations and your duties beforehand.
Someone once said, "In order to become Miss Gay Missouri, you must act like Miss
Gay Missouri. I couldn’t agree more!
In closing, working with the MGMA Alumni committee is a truly great experience. Trust me - getting a photo session with Anne K. Brown and make-up appointment with Andy Chambers is a royal way to start your career as Miss Gay Missouri. What's more, getting to do all of the preliminaries is nothing short of a blast and it’s also a nice way to make some dollars (which we all know is not bad at all).
The Alumni was also eager to make sure my needs were met at nationals, and while I didn’t need much help, it was nice to know they offered and were there for me. I have seen first-hand the hard work and difficult choices that have to be made for a pageant of this size and it has made winning last year so much more special to me. So please know that while every decision made by the Alumni may not be popular and some may not agree, everything is done for the betterment of the pageant system to ensure integrity , honesty and professionalism . The vision of the Alumni is for a strong pageant system to be in place to assure the next 40 years carries on smoothly.
Well ladies, start your drag engines; get out and enter one of the upcoming preliminaries and get your ticket to help write the next chapter of Miss Gay Missouri history. The next queen will be our 40th anniversary title holder. Forty and Fabulous - MGMA 2013. Be there!
